QR code won't scan

If the QR code won't scan, check the following.

Common causes and solutions

1. Size too small

QR codes that are too small are hard for smartphone cameras to read.

Solution: When printing, enlarge the QR code to at least 3cm × 3cm. You can print larger codes from the Print QR code page.

2. Dirt or glare

Smudges, glossy surfaces, or reflections through glass can prevent scanning.

Solution: Keep the print clean and display it away from direct sunlight or bright lighting.

3. Camera or app issues

The smartphone camera or QR reader may not be working correctly.

Solution:

  • Restart the camera app
  • Restart the smartphone
  • Try a different QR code reader app
  • Enter the reception URL directly in the browser address bar (as an alternative to the QR code)

4. URL not displaying correctly

Low print resolution may cause the QR pattern to blur.

Solution: Reprint at higher resolution, or use the poster display on a screen and have customers scan from the display.

If the problem persists

You can share the reception URL directly with customers and have them enter it in their browser. The URL can be found on the admin "QR code print" page or shop settings.
